Digifant

The valve prevents the idle speed from dropping too much when the load increases, such as when many electrical consumers are switched on. This prevents the engine from stalling and its vibrations from being transmitted to the vehicle interior.

Turn on the ignition. The speed stabilization valve should vibrate and buzz when idling. In this case, check the valve adjustment.

If the valve does not buzz, disconnect the plug from the valve and measure the resistance in the circuit from the valve to the connecting contacts. The prescribed resistance value is 3.5-4.5 Ohm, otherwise replace the valve.

Check the conductivity of the electrical wire to the valve, if necessary, repair the break or replace the Digifant system control unit.

Checking the regulation

Warm up the engine until the engine oil temperature is not lower than +80°C.

Temperature sensor of the Digifant system (blue insulation) check, replace if necessary.

Check the intake tract for leaks. To do this, start the engine and let it idle. Treat all sealing areas with a brush and gasoline. If the engine shaft speed increases, the engine sucks in additional air at the point where it is treated with gasoline. In this case, replace the corresponding sealing gasket.

Warning: Do not spray gasoline on hot parts or the ignition system, fire hazard! Do not inhale gasoline vapors, toxic!

Connect a suitable ammeter with a measuring wire to the valve "1" for stabilizing the rotation speed when operating at idle (serial connection).

Let the engine idle for about one minute. Then rev it up three times, each time increasing the crankshaft speed to over 3000 rpm.

At an idle speed of 800 ±50 1/min, measure the control current. The prescribed value is approximately 420 ±30 mA, fluctuating.

Disconnect the plug from the temperature sensor. The specified current value is approximately 420±30 mA, constant.

Note: The value of the control current for speed stabilization depends on the engine load when idling.
With the load specified below, the current value can fluctuate from 400 to 1000 mA:
  • the engine is cold;
  • the air conditioning system is on;
  • electricity consumers are included;
  • if there is power steering: the steering is engaged.

If the specified current values are not achieved, replace the control unit (workshop work).
