The figure shows the crankcase ventilation system on a turbodiesel engine. Pipe (3) leads from the cylinder block to the pressure control valve (2). The next channel goes straight from the cylinder head to the pressure control valve. That's where the hose comes from (1) to the suction part of the turbocharging device. The arrow points to the safety tie that holds the vent tube in place where it connects to the engine block.
Attention: The greater the pressure loss during combustion and the greater the wear on pistons, piston rings and cylinder surfaces, the greater the smoke when the engine is running from the crankcase ventilation pipe. With the oil filler opening open, pressure losses can be clearly determined. Professionals can determine the degree of engine wear by a portion of the ejected air.
