Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground wire clamp.
2. Remove the air filter assembly.
3. Lift up and release the clip securing the carburetor throttle control cable, paying attention to how it is positioned.
4. Remove the excess cable from the support bracket.
5. Loosen the screws and remove the shelf from the driver's side, then remove the fastening clamp from the cable on the gas pedal.
6. Remove the entire cable into the engine compartment along with the rubber bushings.
7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that the gas cable is correctly installed and not twisted. Finally, before installing the air filter, the cable must be adjusted.
Adjustment
8. Before making any adjustments, check that the cable is correctly installed along its entire length.
9. When adjusting, the assistant must fully depress the gas pedal.
10. Check whether the gap between the throttle lever on the carburetor and the full opening limiter is 0.5 mm. It is necessary to remember that the throttle lever cannot rest against the full opening limiter (i.e. there should be a small gap).
11. There are different ways to adjust the gas cable. In the case where there are lock nuts on the end of the metal cable guard on the engine side (solex Piet carburetor in Figure 3.7). it is necessary to loosen them, then adjust the position of the cable and tighten the lock nuts. If there is a bushing at the end of the metal protection, screwed in with a spring safety ring (solex Pic, Zenith 1B3 and 2B5 carburetors, as well as Pierburd 2E2 and 2E3), it is necessary to remove the safety ring, adjust the position of the cable, and then put on the safety ring so that it rests on the guide sleeve.

In some car models, before adjusting the gas cable, it is necessary to loosen the clamping bolt, change the position of the gas lever, and then tighten the clamping bolt 12. The gas cable is adjusted in a similar way in models with gasoline injection and a manual transmission. With the gas pedal fully depressed, it is necessary to adjust the gap between the lever and the limiter (figure 3.9) The gap should be 0.5... 1.0 mm.

The adjustment is made by moving the metal cable protection fastener to another groove of the metal protection, lengthening or shortening the length of the air filter.
