Fuel sump (VW Golf 2)

1. The fuel sump is located between the fuel pump and the carburetor. The sump has three fittings for connecting elastic pipes. These fittings are the fuel pump ("arrow"), to the carburetor (not indicated) and the fuel return nipple (R).

2. To remove the sump, you must first disconnect the three elastic pipes and plug them to prevent debris from getting inside.

3. Unscrew the fastening screws from the support bracket and remove the sump. Mark the location of the ground wire connection.

4. Install the sump in the reverse order of removal. Check for fuel leaks.
