Instructions: Replace the clutch disc and pressure plate with damaged or loose rivets. Replace the pressure plate and clutch disc only together. Select the pressure plate and clutch disc in accordance with the engine code letter. Clean the splines of the input shaft and, if using a used clutch disc, also the splines of its hub, remove any traces of corrosion and apply a very thin layer of plastic grease for clutch disc splines -G 000 100- to the splines. Then, move the clutch disc along the input shaft until its hub slides freely. Be sure to remove excess grease. The pressure plates are protected against corrosion and lubricated. Only cleaning their working surface is permitted, otherwise the service life of the clutch will be significantly reduced. The mounting surface of the pressure plate and the clutch disc lining must fit completely against the flywheel. Only insert the connecting bolts after this fit has been ensured.
Clutch parts and units for cars with a 1.4 l petrol engine

- 1 - Dual mass flywheel, make sure that the centering pins are securely seated, there should be no grooves, oil stains or traces of grease on the mating surface of the clutch linings
- 2 - Clutch disc, replaceable only with SAC pressure plate
- 3 - SAC pressure plate, SAC means "self-adjusting clutch", can only be replaced as a set with the clutch disc
- 4 - Bolt M6, 13 Nm, bolt M7, 20 Nm, tighten and unscrew the bolts crosswise, turning each time at a small angle
Clutch parts and units for cars with a turbocharged diesel engine and cars with a 2.0 l petrol engine

- 1 - Dual mass flywheel, make sure that the centering pins are securely seated, there should be no grooves, oil stains or traces of grease on the mating surface of the clutch linings
- 2 - Clutch disc, can only be replaced together with the pressure plate
- 3 - Pressure plate with adjustment mechanism, can only be replaced together with the clutch disc
- 4 - Bolt M6, 13 Nm, bolt M7, 20 Nm, tighten and unscrew the bolts crosswise, turning each time at a small angle
Removal

Remove the gearbox. When unscrewing the bolts, use the stop "3067". Unscrew the bolts crosswise, turning each time at a small angle. When unscrewing the bolts, the tab "2", pressed to the clutch basket with the screw, should stop being fixed on the flywheel. If this does not happen, it is necessary to press the screw head in the direction of the dual-mass flywheel. Remove the pressure plate and the clutch disc.
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Instructions. The pressure plate and clutch disc are selected in accordance with the engine letter designation. Check whether the centering bushings are inserted into the cylinder block (for correct alignment of the engine and gearbox). Without centering bushings, gear shifting becomes difficult, the clutch does not work well and noise may occur (gears rotating freely on shafts make noise).
Mounting position of the clutch disc

Marking "Getriebeseite" and protruding springs to the gearbox.
Checking the condition of the ends of the diaphragm spring petals

Wear of up to half the thickness of the diaphragm spring "arrow" petals is acceptable.
Checking flat springs and their riveted connections

Make sure that the flat springs installed between the pressure plate and the clutch housing (basket) are not cracked and that their riveted connections are not loose. A pressure plate with damaged flat springs or loosened "arrow" rivets must be replaced.

When installing, use the "3067" stop. Install the pressure plate on the centering pins. Screw in all the bolts by hand until their heads are pressed against the pressure plate. Then tighten the bolts crosswise, turning them at a small angle each time and making sure not to damage the centering holes of the pressure plate and the centering pins of the dual-mass flywheel. Install the gearbox.
