Remove roll cage element -1- by unscrewing bolt -2-. Unscrew the fuse box on the left under the dash panel and move it to the side. Disconnect the relay box on the left under the front panel and move it to the side.
Remove footwell trim, to do this unscrew nuts -arrows-.
Loosen bolt -1- and remove universal joint -2- from steering gear shaft.
If fitted, remove noise insulation cover -arrow- from lower part of clutch pedal support bracket.
To do this, remove the clamping washers -A- for the soundproofing cover. Detach soundproof cover.
- Pull upwards -arrow- the noise insulation in the area of the upper fastening nut -1- above the brake pedal -A-.
Remove clutch pedal -1- from support bracket -3- by unscrewing nut -2- and removing bolt -5-.
Instruction: The clutch pedal will then remain connected to the master cylinder rod.
Lower the clutch pedal and remove the servo spring -4- from the support bracket.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Instruction: Self-locking nuts must be replaced.
Insert the servo spring into the support bracket from above. The socket -arrow- for the clutch pedal pin -A- must be vertical. Install the clutch pedal trunnion into the servo spring seat. Lightly depress the clutch pedal, insert the bolt and tighten the self-locking nut.
On some vehicles, a soundproof cover -arrow- is fitted to the clutch pedal support bracket. Install it in the installation position. Refit roll cage element -1- and tighten bolt -2- to the correct torque. On the driver's side, install the trim and the cover under it. Fit cross piece -2- onto steering gear shaft stub and screw in new bolt -1-. Carry out basic setting of steering angle sender -G85- using tester -VAS 5051-. On the driver's side, install the trim and the cover under it. Tightening torque: pedal roll cage element to support bracket - 20 Nm. Replace the safety cage element mounting bolt.
