Mounting position of the gear shift mechanism
Arrow A is the direction of gear engagement. Arrow B is the direction of gear selection.

Instructions: Before carrying out repair work on the gearshift mechanism in the engine compartment, it is necessary to disconnect the ground wire from the battery. After connecting the battery terminals, perform the necessary work. Remove the air filter housing assembly if it is located above the gearshift mechanism. To replace the drive cables, remove the gearshift mechanism. Do not bend the drive cables!
Removal and installation the gearshift lever tip with cover
- 1 - The cover with the gear shift pattern can be carefully pried out of the plastic or leather end of the gear shift lever
- 2 - Gear shift lever tip with boot, the gear shift lever tip and its boot are not separated from each other, always replaced as a set
- 3 - Clamp for fastening the tip to the gearshift lever, be sure to replace
- 4 - Center console trim, only available in some versions as a separate part
- 5 - Soundproofing casing, not installed on all cars, for correct installation on the soundproofing casing there is an arrow, which should be directed in the direction of the car's movement, the fixing protrusions are located at different distances from each other, therefore the soundproofing casing can only be installed in one position
