- B - gear selection rod;

- A - gear shift cable mount;
- B - gear selection rod;
- C - exhaust system heat shield;
- 1 - gear shift lever;
- 2 - lever with the leading part of the gear selection rod;
- arrow A - movement when switching;
- arrow B - movement when selecting gears
Transverse movement is used to change gears (choice of movement) in the idle position and the actual movement when switching.
On cars with 1.4-/ 1.6-I engines, rods are used for shifting, and on models with 1.8-/ 1.9-/ 2.3-I engines, two cables are used.
