Adjusting the gear shift lever cable tension (VW Golf 4)

Automatic transmission control cable fastening

• 1 - cable tip;
• 2 - bolt;
• 3 - fixing bracket;
• 4 - lever

Execution order

1. Set the selector lever to position "P".

2. Unscrew the bolt (2) securing the end (1) of the gear selection cable.

3. In this position of the lever (4), tighten the bolt (2) securing the cable end to a torque of 5 Nm.

4. Check the adjustment.
