Instructions: When performing further work, do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with the side member or gearbox. If this does happen, thoroughly clean the area. Place a rag under the master cylinder that does not leave fibers on the parts.
Clamp the hose to the clutch master cylinder using clamp "3094". It can also be plugged with plug -T10249/1-.

In the course of further work it is necessary to remove the clutch pedal position sensor "C476" "arrow 1" and the locking bracket "arrow 2". They are located in close proximity to the brake booster "A". They are partially covered by the booster.

Disconnect hose "1" from the master cylinder. Unlock locking clip "2" and disconnect pipe "3" from the master cylinder. Disconnect clutch pedal position sensor "G476" from the master cylinder, located next to hose "arrow" and remove it together with connected connector "4". Remove storage compartment and trim on the driver's side.

Carefully cut the cable tie "1". If present, disconnect the cable channel "2" from the steering column. Remove the footwell air duct "3".

Remove safety frame element "1" by unscrewing bolt "2". Unscrew the fuse box on the left under the front panel and move it to the side. Disconnect the relay box on the left under the front panel and move it to the side.

Unscrew the indicated nuts securing the "arrow" support bracket.

If present, remove the noise-insulating cover "arrow" from the lower part of the clutch pedal support bracket.

To do this, remove the clamping washers "A" of the noise-insulating casing. Disconnect the noise-insulating casing. Wrap the universal joint from the socket wrench set -VAG 1835- with insulating tape.

Move the wiring harness "1" to the left and upwards using the extension cable "2" from the kit -VAG 1835- "arrow".

If present, pull up "arrow" the noise-insulating casing in the area of the upper mounting nut "1" above the brake pedal "A". Unscrew the upper mounting nut "1" of the support bracket. Nut "1" can be unscrewed by passing an extension wrench between the relay unit and the steering column.

Then unscrew both lower nuts of the support bracket fastening "2" and remove the support bracket. Remove the support bracket "3". If present, disconnect the noise-insulating casing.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. In some cars, a noise-insulating casing "arrow" is installed on the clutch pedal support bracket.
Instructions: Self-locking nuts must be replaced.
Install the safety frame element "1" in place and tighten the bolt "2" to the correct torque. On the driver's side, install the cover plate and the cover underneath it. Insert the pipe "1" with a new seal "2" into the main cylinder nipple "4", and a characteristic click of the locking bracket "3" should be heard.

Check the connection reliability by pulling the pipe. Remove the clamp "3094" from the hose to the master cylinder and, if necessary, return the hose to its original shape. Bleed the clutch hydraulic drive. Install the battery. Install the air filter housing assembly in place, if it was removed. Tightening torque: safety cage element to support bracket - 20 Nm. Replace the safety cage element mounting bolt.
