Removal the coil spring (VW Touareg 1)

Compress the spring to release the upper spring cup.

Remove the hex nut from the piston rod.

Remove the individual shock absorber strut components and the spring using the spring compressor VAS 6046 and the spring holder VAS 6046/3 (Fig. 4.80).

CAUTION: First compress the spring to relieve the load on the upper spring cup.

Ensure that the spring is correctly positioned in the VAS 6046/3 holder (Fig. 4.81).
