Insert the upper support 2 into the upper cup 1 (Fig. 4.82).

Insert the upper support 2 into the upper cup 1 (Fig. 4.82).


In this case, the protrusion of arrow A should coincide with the recess - arrow B.

Place the spring on the lower bracket VAS 6046/3.

Ensure that the spring is correctly positioned in the VAS 6046/3 holder (fig. 4.81).

The upper cup must be installed on the spring so that the protrusion is opposite the fastening of the connecting rod 1 (Fig. 4.83).

The cent lines A and B must be parallel to each other.

The end of the spring should be in contact with the stop of the upper support 1 (Fig. 4.84).

Make sure that the dust boot is clamped in the upper cup of spring 2.



Tighten a new hex nut onto the piston rod.

Release the VAS 6046 tensioner and remove it from the spring.

Install the shock absorber strut.

Tightening torque



Shock absorber strut nut (Use new nuts) - 60 Nm
