2. On models with adjustable clutch, remove the pedal kingpin guard and then remove the pedal from the axle.
3. On models equipped with a self-adjusting clutch mechanism, you will need to disconnect the steering column and move it to the left side so that the pedal can be removed. After moving the steering column to the left side, it is necessary to stretch the spring and keep it stretched during removal. This day will need the appropriate equipment for the springs.
4. With the spring extended, remove the clamp, spring and hardware. Then remove the gear segment spring (7a), holding the pedal assembly and remove together with the toothed segment and the fixing element (7b).
5. Check the pedal shaft and bushings for wear, replace if necessary. The bearing sleeve is pressed in and a soft metal stud must be used to remove and install it. It is necessary to ensure that the end of the sleeve coincides with the end of the pedal tube (so that they are in the same plane).
6. Before disassembling the gear segment in the self-adjusting clutch model, attention must be paid to the installation of the segment and the locking element spring. Check the locking element bearing bush for wear and replace worn parts if necessary
Assembly
7. In both types of pedals, assembly takes place in the reverse order of disassembly. Lubricate the axle with universal grease, and in models with a self-adjusting clutch, also the bushing of the bearing of the locking element.
8. On models with manual cable adjustment, check and adjust the cable as described in point 2. On models with self-adjusting clutch, adjust the cable by depressing the clutch pedal several times.
