2. In 4-speed transmission, it is necessary to unscrew the ribbed plate from the gearbox and remove the gasket.
3. In 5 speed gear, first jack up the engine/gearbox assembly, then disconnect the front and rear engine/gearbox mount brackets, see section 1. Lower the jack a few centimeters to expose the round deckle in the rear case cover gearboxes.
Using a sharp tool, pry the deckle out of the lid. During installation, install a new deckle 4. In models with 4 and 5-speed gears, the shoulder that pushes the release bearing is seated on the spline of the shaft. The position of the shoulder is determined using two spring rings. You need to take these rings out
5. After disconnecting the clutch cable, remove the release shaft and push arm, as well as the spring from the gearbox. Pay attention to the position of the spring and the fact that one of its sides has rings rolled up to a larger diameter.
6. Remove the release bearing, and only in models with a 4-speed transmission, remove the guide sleeve. Removing the tappet in 4-speed gearboxes is not possible without lowering the assembly.
7. Rotating the release bearing, check the smoothness of rotation. The bearing is jammed and with large clearances must be replaced. Check the condition of the trip shaft seal and, if necessary, install a new one using a metal tube of the appropriate length. Fill with grease the place between the lips of the seal.
Installation
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order to dismantling.
In 4-speed gearboxes, it is always necessary to insert a new gasket under the fin plate. In 5-speed gearboxes, it is necessary to drive a new deckle into the body using a metal tube of the appropriate length and diameter.
