2. Block the flywheel to prevent it from rotating, loosen and then unscrew the bolts securing the flywheel to the clutch booster disc (photo 5.3)
Remove flywheel and clutch disc. Pay attention to which side of the disc is adjacent to the clutch booster, mark the relative position of the flywheel and the booster disc, despite the fact that the centering pins ensure the correct location of the TDC designation on the flywheel.
3. If the disc surface is damaged, it must be replaced. It is necessary to pay attention to the exact location of the ends of the spring ring 10 (the ring must then be fixed in the same way) (pic. 5.2).
Lift the ring with a screwdriver and remove the switching disc. The clutch booster is fixed to the crankshaft trunnion with 6 bolts, which are coated with an anti-loosening agent. It will be difficult to unscrew them, as they are clamped by a large moment. These bolts must be replaced with new ones (photo 5.6).
Assembly
4. Assembly takes place in the reverse order of disassembly. When fastening the clutch to the crankshaft trunnion, it is necessary to use new bolts and blocking substance. Tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the technical data. Please note that these values vary depending on the type of bolts.
5. Make sure that the spring ring 10 is correctly installed. Care must be taken that oil or grease does not get on the surface of the pressure ring and clutch disc. When installing a new booster, you should wipe the protective layers from the rubbing surface
6. Lubricate the splines of the clutch disc hub with graphite grease.
7. Put the flywheel on the booster disc. Insert the fixing bolts and tighten them by hand.
8. The next operation is the centering of the clutch disc. If the clutch disc is not centered accurately, the clutch shaft will not fall into the splines of the clutch disc and there will be problems with the connection of the engine and gearbox. A special tool is used for centering, but if it is not available, a barbell can be used. After precise centering of the clutch disc, it is necessary to tighten the mounting bolts crosswise with a certain moment.
9. When installing the gear, lubricate with lithium grease the end of the pusher of the release clutch 13 near the switching disc 9 (pic. 5.2).
