Removal and installation the clutch servo spring (VW Passat B4)

Remove the relay box cover and storage shelf. Release the tension of the sickle spring by pressing the clutch pedal all the way and fixing it in this position with some object, resting it on the pedal and on the driver's seat runners. Disconnect the relay box from the bracket and fold it down without disconnecting the wires and relay.

Press the servo spring with the lever and detach it with a vigorous upward movement. Install the spring in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:

• first attach the spring to the bracket support;
• using a lever, make a strong and sharp upward movement to insert the spring into the clutch pedal socket.

To remove the spring booster of the clutch drive used on the AFN diesel engine, remove the lower storage shelf on the driver's side in the car. After creating tension in the spring booster by pressing the clutch pedal, move the fastening clamp from top to bottom (catalog number 3317). Release the clutch pedal and remove the spring booster together with the mounting clamp (part 3317).

To install, press the clutch pedal. Install the spring booster in the support, then move it vertically downwards until the mounting clamp touches the pin on which the clutch pedal rests.

Adjust the clutch pedal to its original position by removing the mounting clamp.
