Pic. 3.69. O-ring for screw plug
When checking the ATF level, it is imperative to replace the O-ring of the ATF level screw (pic. 3.69).
Stop the engine.
By the beginning of the test, the temperature of the ATF should be no more than 30°C.
The gearbox must not operate in emergency mode.
The vehicle must be level.
The automatic transmission selector must be set to the position «P».
Start the engine.
Raise the vehicle.
Place a tray under the gearbox.
Pic. 3.70. Removing the ATF level plug
At temperatures between 35°C and 45°C, unscrew the ATF level plug in the oil pan (pic. 3.70).
Pic. 3.71. Draining the ATF
Drain the liquid in the bypass tube (pic. 3.71).
Tighten the screw plug with a new lip seal to 15 Nm. This completes the ATF level check.
If ATF does not drip from the hole: ATF must be topped up.
Adding ATF
With the engine running, screw in the oil filler plug tightly by hand.
Pour in 1 liter of ATF.
Disconnect the oil fill adapter from the quick release and check for fluid leaking from the hole in the adapter.
If it leaks, topping up the oil is not required.
Let the ATF flow out so that individual drops begin to drip.
Tighten the screw plug with a new lip seal to 15 Nm. This completes the ATF level check.
If no ATF drips after this: another liter of fluid needs to be added.
Attention: Insufficient or excessive addition of ATF liquid will impair the operation of the gearbox.
