Special tool: not required.

Necessary consumables:

  • Brake fluid specification FMVSS 116 DOT 4.

The expansion tank with brake fluid is located in the engine compartment.

The expansion tank is made of transparent material, so that the brake fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time. In addition, if the brake fluid level is too low, the indicator on the instrument panel lights up. However, it is advisable to regularly check the brake fluid level visually.

The brake fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks. 1 - expansion tank cover.

When necessary, use only new brake fluid meeting FMVSS 116 DOT 4 specification.

Note: Due to wear of the brake pads of disc brakes, the brake fluid level drops slightly - this is normal. There is no need to top up the brake fluid. When the condition of the brake pads approaches the wear limit, the fluid level in the expansion tank may drop to the MIN mark. In this case, there is no need to top up the brake fluid.

If the level in the tank drops in a short time or is below the MIN mark, this indicates a loss of brake fluid.

In case of loss of brake fluid, it is necessary to immediately find the leak site. For safety reasons, the brake system should be checked and repaired at a service station.
