Remove the sealing ring using a puller (Fig. 3.67).

Press the sealing ring in flush with the mandrel (Fig. 3.68).
Installing a torque converter
Carefully push the torque converter hub through the sealing ring until it reaches the first stop.
Gently rotate the torque converter toward the transmission until the groove in the sleeve engages the driven disc of the impeller and the torque converter moves noticeably inward.

The torque converter is installed correctly if it rotates easily by hand and sits evenly in the gearbox around its entire circumference.
Caution: If the torque converter is not installed correctly, the torque converter link or ATF pump link will be broken when the transmission is connected to the engine.
