For lubrication of the gearbox and main gear, hypoid oil SAE 80 or SAE 80 W-90 specification L2105 is prescribed, sometimes you can find the designation API/GL. This oil can be used in all climate zones at any time of the year.
Attention! The transmission with a limited-slip differential must be filled only with special oil according to the Volkswagen specification M 2 C 104 A.
The oil should be checked every 15,000 km of run, the oil is checked through a special hole in the transmission. When the car is horizontally positioned on the goats, the oil should reach the lower edge of the hole (for cars with 5-speed gearbox 15 mm below the edge). Check the oil level with your finger. Slowly pour in the oil. The filling amount is about 4.0 l for a 5-speed transmission, and 4.5 l for a 4-speed transmission.
