Changing the oil in the gearbox and final drive housing (VW Beetle)

The amount of oil to replace is about 2.5 liters.

The oil level in the gearbox and final drive housing should be checked every 20,000 km. Filling the oil and checking its level is carried out through the filler hole A on the gearbox. When the vehicle is standing horizontally, the oil level should be level with the lower edge of the filler hole thread.

You need to pour oil slowly. For filling, use SAE 80 or SAE 80W-90 transmission oil of specification MIL-L-2105 (API GL-4).
