Fabric upholstery
The fabric upholstery is cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or a stiff brush. Places contaminated with oily substances are cleaned with a stain remover. Do not apply the stain remover directly to the fabric, as this will result in streaks.
To remove stains, moisten a rag, sponge or brush with a stain remover and wipe the stain from the outside of the stain to its edges in a circular motion.
Leather upholstery
Leatherette upholstery usually does not get very dirty, so special products are not required to clean it.
For light soiling, an aqueous solution of mild detergent is sufficient (or soap) or an aqueous solution of a special preparation for cleaning leather substitutes.
Strong contamination must be removed immediately. You can use benzine, alcohol or thinner for cleaning. But you should not pour these substances directly onto the material, but only wipe the contaminated area with a cloth moistened with them.
Dry the upholstery thoroughly with a soft cloth after each cleaning, especially at the joints (at the seams).
