Removal and installation the front seat upholstery and cushion
Instructions: The following describes the work on removing and installing the parts and units of the left seat. Removing and installing the parts and units of the right seat is done in a similar way. When replacing the front passenger seat cushion, be sure to replace the front passenger seat occupancy sensor "G126", or in cars for the American market, replace the seat occupancy detection system.
Mount the seat repair bracket -VAS 6136- on the test stand -VAS 6095-. Remove the front seat. Secure the seat to the bracket -VAS 6136-. Remove the front seat belt buckle. Remove the trim on the tunnel side. If present, remove the drawer socket.

Remove the door sill trim. Remove the door sill trim bracket. Disconnect the two seat back drive harnesses at the bottom of the seat frame. Remove the harnesses from the seat frame.

Cut the cable ties of the shielded cable, disconnect and pull out the side airbag wiring harness.
Instructions: In a vehicle with a front passenger seat that has a mechanism for folding the backrest to transport long loads, it is sufficient to simply fold the backrest forward; there is no need to remove the backrest.
Remove the seat back. Disconnect the strips "1", "2", "3" and "4" from the mounting sockets on the seat frame. Remove the upholstery and cushion from the seat frame.
Turn the upholstery inside out. Using a small screwdriver, remove the upholstery strips "1" from the mounting sockets "2" in the cushion.
Instructions: At the back of the seat, the upholstery is attached to the cushion with staples. Cut them with a pair of side cutters.

Disconnect all fastenings of the upholstery to the cushion according to this description. Remove the upholstery "3" from the cushion "4".

Cut the cable ties of the shielded cable, disconnect and pull out the side airbag wiring harness. Remove the seat backrest. Secure the backrest to the bracket -VAS 6136-. If present, remove the lumbar support adjustment lever. If present, remove the folding table from the backrest. Press the release button and remove the head restraint from the seat backrest. Remove strip "1" from socket "2".

Turn the upholstery up. In cars with heated seats, pull the wiring harness "1" through the hole in the cushion. Cut off the four fastening brackets "arrows". Turn the upholstery even higher and cut off the next two fastening brackets.

Using the puller "T10236" remove the clamps "1" from the rear part on the right and left of the backrest. Disconnect the fastening tongues "2" on the right and left from the seat backrest frame.

Fold the upholstery even higher and remove the upholstery strip from the mounting socket in the "arrow" cushion using a small screwdriver. Fold the upholstery even higher and disconnect the remaining upholstery fasteners to the cushion. Remove the upholstery from the headrest guides and backrest frame.

Remove cushion "1" from the headrest guides and remove it from the seat back frame "2".
