Removal and installation the drawer socket
The drawer socket (optional) is installed on the following types of seats: front seat with manual height adjustment, front passenger seat with a folding backrest mechanism for transporting long items.
Press the locking tabs "1" outward on the left and right, then remove the drawer "2" from the socket. Unscrew the two screws "3" and "4" (8 Nm). Remove the socket of the drawer "5" from the mounting sockets in the seat frame.
Removal and installation the front seat heating control unit "J774"
Instructions: The control unit is installed in front under the seat.
Turn off the ignition. Disconnect the wiring harness "1" from the control unit "2". Turn the control unit clockwise and disconnect it from the seat frame.
Removal the headrest guides
Instructions: For clarity, the illustrations show the headrest guides removed.
Mount the seat repair bracket -VAS 6136- on the test stand -VAS 6095-. Remove the front seat. Secure the seat to the bracket -VAS 6136-. Remove the front seat belt buckle. Remove the trim on the tunnel side. If present, remove the lumbar support adjustment lever.
Front passenger seat without height adjustment mechanism
Remove the backrest adjustment handle. Remove the trim from the threshold side.
Front passenger seat with folding backrest for transporting long loads
Remove the trim from the threshold side.
Front seat with manual height adjustment
Remove the backrest adjustment handle. Remove the trim from the threshold side.
Driver's seat with electrical adjustments
Remove the trim from the threshold side. Disconnect the two seat back drive wiring harnesses at the bottom of the seat frame. Remove the wiring harnesses from the seat frame.

Remove the seat backrest. Secure the seat backrest to the bracket -VAS 6136-. If present, remove the folding table from the seat backrest. Remove the cushion and the upholstery of the front seat backrest. Release the lock "arrow A" of the head restraint guide with button "1" inside the frame. Remove the head restraint guide with button from the seat backrest. Release the lock "arrow B" of the second head restraint guide "2" inside the frame. Remove the head restraint guide from the seat backrest.
Removal and installation the seat back
Instructions: The following describes the work on removal and installation on the left side of the car. The work on removal and installation on the right side of the car is carried out in a similar manner.
Mount the seat repair bracket -VAS 6136- on the test stand -VAS 6095-. Remove the front seat. Secure the seat to the bracket -VAS 6136-. Remove the front seat belt buckle. Remove the trim on the tunnel side.

Remove the backrest adjustment handle. Remove the trim from the threshold side.

Remove the trim from the threshold side.
Front seat with manual height adjustment
Remove the backrest adjustment handle. Remove the trim from the threshold side.

Remove the trim from the sill side. Disconnect the two seat back drive wiring harnesses at the bottom of the seat frame. Remove the wiring harnesses from the seat frame.

Cut the cable ties of the shielded cable, disconnect and pull out the side airbag wiring harness.

Unscrew two screws "1" and "2" (34.5 Nm) on the left and right. Remove the backrest from the seat frame.
