In selector positions R, D and S, it is prohibited to engage the starter. In right-hand drive vehicles, it is permitted to engage the starter in selector positions P and N only when the selector button is not pressed. When the selector is moved to position N at a speed of more than 5 km/h, the selector lock solenoid must not operate and lock the selector. The selector must freely switch to the driving positions. When the selector is shifted to position N at a speed of less than 5 km/h (the car is practically standing still), the selector lock solenoid should only operate after approximately 1 second. From position N, the selector can only be shifted when the brake pedal is depressed.
