Removal the F125 multifunction switch (VW Tiguan 1)

Shift the selector to position N. Switch off the ignition. Do not open the cooling system. Squeeze the locks of the selector rod "3" and pull the rod out of the support upwards. Disconnect the cable rod "1" from the gearshift control lever/shaft by hand. Do not bend the automatic transmission control cable. Disconnect the plug from the multi-function switch "F125".



Unscrew nut "1". Disconnect spring ring "2" and lever "3" from gear shift control shaft "4".



Carefully bend the hooks of the lock washer "2" using a screwdriver. If the hook of the lock washer has been broken off, the washer must be replaced. Unscrew the nut "1". Unscrew the bolt "5". Disconnect the multi-function switch "4" with washers "2" and "3" from the gear shift control shaft "6".





Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Insert the multifunction switch "4" into the gear shift control shaft "8". Tighten the fastening bolts "5" of the multifunction switch by hand. Bend back the hooks of the lock washer "2". Install the washer "2" and nut "3" on the gear shift control shaft "6". Install the washer "2" with the hooks pointing upwards. Install the washer "2" with the long narrow guides in the long narrow recesses of the gear shift control shaft "6". Tighten the nut "1" with a torque of 7 Nm. Fix the nut "1" while bending the hooks of the lock washer upwards "2". If the hook/hooks of the lock washer were broken off, the washer must be replaced. Insert the lever -3 into the gear shift control shaft "4". Using the lever "3", shift the gearbox to position P, i.e. "3" press against the direction of travel until it stops back.

Shift the gearbox to position N using lever "3". Press lever "3" forward in the direction of travel to two locking positions. Install spring ring "2" and nut "1" on gear shift control shaft "4". Tighten nut "1" to a torque of 13 Nm.

Cars with 6-cylinder petrol engine

Install the expansion tank of the cooling system. Connect the ground wire to the battery with the ignition off.

Adjustment conditions

The selector rod is disconnected from the gearshift control lever/shaft. The gearshift control shaft is in position N. The mounting bolts of the multifunction switch "F125" are loosened. The gearshift control lever/shaft has been removed.

Insert the adjusting device "2" and rotate the multi-function switch "1" until the adjusting device engages with the projection of the multi-function switch plug. Lock the adjusting device with the bolt "3" on the gearshift control shaft "2". Tighten the bolts "arrows" with a torque of 6 Nm. Remove the adjusting device. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
