General provisions
Volkswagen vehicles are built to the latest safety standards. In order to ensure its reliability, it is recommended to use only genuine Volkswagen parts. They are distinguished by the VW Audi trademark and part number. Reliability, safety and suitability are guaranteed for these parts.
This cannot be said about other products, despite the fact that in individual cases they have a TUV certificate or a special permit, and the market is constantly monitored. Therefore, for obvious reasons, Volkswagen cannot assume responsibility for the installation of these products.
Attention: The products of Volkswagen Genuine Parts and Votex Genuine Accessories may differ from each other in terms of installation conditions, tightening torques, etc.
Attention: It is imperative to observe the relevant installation and operating instructions.
Wheel markings
There are several markings on the wheels. The parameters required to uniquely identify a wheel are shown in the following example.
Part number: 6E0 601 027 A.
Rim size: 6J x 15.
6 is a dimension indicating the width of the rim profile in inches.
J - the shape of the side flange of the rim.
15 is the rim diameter in inches.
Departure (ET) in mm: 43.
The designation of the hump on the landing shelf of the rim: EH2 Extended Hump.
Raised round hump on both rim landing shelves
Humps are necessary so that when operating a tire with the properties of a safe tire, it does not come off the landing shelf of the rim in a deflated state. Wheels marked EH2 are only required if they are fitted with safety tires
Load of a wheel support by own weight of the car
Note: All rubber-metal undercarriage mounting bolts must be tightened in a position where the vehicle's own weight acts on the suspension (idle state).
Note: All rubber bushings have a limited torsion range.
Note: Therefore, the suspension parts with rubber-metal bushings must be brought into the position corresponding to their position in the driving mode before tightening (vehicle dead weight).
Otherwise, the rubber-metal bushing can be overstretched, which will reduce its service life.
By raising the suspension of the respective wheel with the help of the engine and gearbox stand and the pallet, this position can be simulated on the lift.
Before raising the suspension of the relevant wheel, the vehicle must be secured to the lift brackets with tension straps.
Rotate the wheel hub so that one of the wheel bolt holes is at the top.
Attach the support with the wheel bolt to the wheel hub.
Tightening of the corresponding bolts and nuts is allowed only when the distance between the center of the hub and the lower edge of the wheel arch reaches dimension a.
Dimension a depends on the height of the chassis of the vehicle.
