After inserting the output shaft, check whether the stem and reverse gear move easily. At the end of the shaft, install a small shim and a retaining ring.
If the replaced parts require gearbox adjustment (see table below), it is necessary to insert a feeler gauge between the retaining ring and the bearing to select such a thickness of the small washer in order to maintain a gap of 0-0.5 mm, a difference of 0.05 mm in these gaps at the primary and secondary shafts. The measurement is shown in Fig. 298.
To determine the thickness of the large shim, fully insert the bearing and measure the distance between the box housing and the outer race of the bearing. To measure, you need to use the indicator, since the distance is extremely small (pic. 299). The thickness of the washers, depending on the result obtained, are given in Table. 18.
Attention! If the secondary shaft is replaced, then before installing the first gear, you need to re-calculate the number of teeth of the final drive gear, as it is different for different engine modifications. To distinguish the shaft has a certain number of grooves in the middle of the length (or doesn't have them). Designation of the driven gear given here.
