- Place the III/IV gear synchronizer ring on the gear cone and measure the gap "a" from the ring to the gear (see figure 295). The maximum permissible value of the gap (wear) is 0.5 mm. In the case of installing new parts, this size fluctuates in the range of 1.1-1.7 mm.
- Place three crackers into the hub and install the collar.
- Replacing the synchronizer springs is similar to the secondary shaft synchronizer (see figure 296). Their ends should be mutually rotated by 120°. Note. not that the groove on the outer part of the synchronizer (bottom arrow in figure 297) was located on the side of the fourth gear.
