Rinse all removed parts thoroughly and dry with compressed air. Evaluate the degree of wear of all gears, bearings, synchronizers, etc. The output shaft gear that drives the final drive can be replaced separately without replacing the final drive gear. In this case, you need to pay attention to the fact that the shaft has the same number of teeth, which guarantees the preservation of the gear ratio. In all bearings, inspect the balls or needles for signs of wear, gouges or other damage. Also evaluate the condition of the synchronizer hubs, their bushings and forks.
Replace all seals, glands and retaining rings, as well as damaged bolts, nuts and washers.
It is possible to replace the gears of one shaft without necessarily replacing the paired gears of the other shaft.
