Figure 290. Primary shaft: 1 - primary shaft; 2, 7 - ball bearings; 3, 4 - adjusting linings, 5, 6, 12 - retaining rings; 8, 18 - needle bearings; 9 - gear 111 transmission; 10, 17 - synchronizer rings; 11 - washer; 13, 16 - synchronizer spring; 14 - III/IV gear synchronizer; 15 - cracker; 19 - 4th gear pinion
Remove synchronizer ring 17. Using pliers, remove retaining ring 14 from the synchronizer hub, as shown in Fig. 291.

Remove the shaft from the synchronizer hub and remove the synchronizer ring and gear 9 of the 3rd gear with needle bearing 8.
If it is necessary to disassemble the synchronizer clutch, first mark the hub and its bushing on one side with paint if these parts will not be replaced. The position of the cracker grooves does not matter, but it is important which side the parts are inserted. Slide the bushing off the hub and remove the springs, as well as the three crackers. If necessary, replace the hub and bushing as a whole.
