Defective protective covers must be replaced immediately, otherwise the bearing will suffer. Defective synchronous joints, which are recognized by noise and knocking when switching the brake mode, are replaced completely.
Disassembly
Remove the shaft.
(40-004) Use a punch to separate the sealed cover from the joint.
(40-003) remove the retaining ring with pliers.
Caution! Protect joints from dirt!
(40-005) Press the joint using a suitable press.

Assembly
Attention! On each side, 45 grams of molybdenum grease must be packed into the clean joint. When replacing the protective cover, the joint must also be lubricated if necessary.
Before installation, check the protective cover for scratches and abrasion, replace if necessary.
Push the casing on, press the joint onto the shaft. At the same time, insert the retaining ring into the groove. If necessary, press it in with pliers.
Place the protective cover on the joint and secure it at the back with a round binder.
Clean the adjacent surfaces of the joint.
Insert the shaft, place lock washers under the hex bolts, tighten the bolts to a torque of 45 Nm.
