Warning: Depending on the vehicle modification, the inner joint of the drive shaft may be of the ball or tripod type. The tripod type joint uses three rollers arranged at an angle of 120° instead of six balls.
Execution order
1. Remove the drive shaft and secure it in a vice with soft jaws.
2. Using paint, mark the position of the CV joint boot on the drive shaft so that the boot can be installed in place.
3. Remove the clamps securing the drive shaft boot and move the boot onto the drive shaft.

4. Use an aluminum or copper hammer to knock the joint off the drive shaft.
Inner hinge
5. Remove the retaining ring 11 (see figure Constant velocity ball joint drive shaft), securing the inner joint to the drive shaft. Press the drive shaft out of the joint.
6. Before securing the protective cover with clamps during assembly, use a screwdriver to lift the inner edge of the protective cover to equalize the air pressure under the cover.
