Raise the vehicle. Unscrew the bolts of the 5 gear selector rod clamp from the bottom of the vehicle and move the clamp away.
In the car body, lift the cover 3 of the gear selector lever rod and unscrew the now visible rod mounting nuts. Pull the rod 4 and the lever rod 2 upwards.
When assembling, place the lever into the housing and insert the rod into the guide.

Insert the clamp, but do not tighten it. Lubricate both lever pivots and install the lever in place. To adjust the mechanism, loosen the two front bracket nuts (figure 311), and also the nuts and bolts of the clamp. Move the bracket so that the distance between the plate and the lever is 6 mm (dimension "A" in Fig. 311). Tighten the nuts of the bracket and also the clamp and check the dimension "A". If it has decreased to 5 mm (but not less), then re-adjustment is not required.
