If the flange has been unscrewed, the sealing ring located on the inside of the flange should be replaced. To knock out the old sealing ring, place the flange in a vice (Fig. 434). Press in a new sealing ring.
To install the sealing ring, first install the shaft and then press in the sealing ring as described for the front crankshaft oil seal. The bolts should be tightened to 25 Nm during assembly.
Install the gear wheel on the intermediate shaft so that the wedge enters the keyway. This will ensure that the gear wheel is installed in the correct position.
Insert the bolt and washer and tighten the bolt while holding the gear still (to do this, insert the mandrel into the hole on the gear wheel and press the mandrel against the surface of the cylinder block) torque of 45 Nm.
The remaining operations are carried out in the reverse order of the removal process.
