Front seal

Replacement

1. Remove the small timing gear from the crankshaft.

2. Removing the seal while the engine and oil pump are in the vehicle can be difficult without special skill.

In this case, another method is to drill two holes on opposite sides of the shaft seal, screw in two screws, and then pull out the screws with the seal using grips. When using this method, you must be careful not to drill into the oil pump housing.

3. Once you remove the oil pump from the engine, the seal can be knocked out without any problems

4. Before installing a new seal, it is necessary to clean the seat in the oil pump.

5. It is necessary to lubricate the seat and the outer edge of the seal with oil. This will make installation much easier. It is necessary to take a tube with a diameter 0.5 mm smaller than the diameter of the seal and hammer the seal into the seat, paying attention that the seal enters evenly. This is done much more accurately when using a press. Then there are no problems with the seal being skewed. If there is a steel ring, then accordingly, you can, having supported the seat from behind, try to press the seal using a large vice. After installation, it is necessary to lubricate the lip of the seal with oil so that it does not start working dry, as this can damage it.

6. Then we install the crankshaft gear.

Rear seal

Replacement is possible after disconnecting the gearbox.

7. Remove the flywheel as described in point 28.

Method 1

8. Drill two holes in the seal opposite each other, screw in two screws and remove the seal using the grips.



9. Clean the socket in the housing.

10. Lubricate the seat and the outer edge of the seal with oil and hammer in with the appropriate metal tube as with the front seal. Finally, lubricate the lip of the seal with oil.

11. Secure the flywheel as described in point 28.

Method 2

12 Remove the oil pan

13. Loosen the bolts and remove the cover with the seal from the fixing bolts on the engine body. Remove the cover gasket.

14. Support the lid on the table with a steel ring of the appropriate diameter and knock out the seal.

15. Clean the socket in the lid.

16. Then proceed as described in paragraph 6.5.

17. Clean the surfaces of the housing and cover. Install a new gasket and tighten the cover. Tighten the bolts crosswise. Cover the surfaces of the cover and housing well with sealing compound

18. Secure the oil pan and flywheel.
