On engines "1Y", "RA", "SB" move the fuel injection pump starting lever all the way down. Unscrew the threaded plug, which is located at the rear of the pump between the high-pressure pipeline fittings. Screw the stand into the hole for the plug, having first made sure that its pressure pin protrudes by 2.5 mm (engines "1Y", "RA", "SB",) or 3 mm (engine "AAZ"). Attach the indicator to the end of the stand (Fig. 3-39). Slowly turn the engine crankshaft counterclockwise until the indicator arrow stops. In this position, set the indicator arrow to zero. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the TDC mark of the piston of the 1st cylinder on the flywheel aligns with the installation protrusion in the hatch of the clutch housing. In this position, measure the stroke of the pump plunger with the indicator, which should correspond to the values specified in Tables 3-8 and 3-9.

If the plunger stroke deviates from the norm, loosen the pump mounting bolts and turn the pump body until the required value is obtained. To facilitate turning the pump body, it is recommended to loosen the high-pressure fuel line fittings. After adjustment, tighten the pump mounting bolts and fuel line fittings. Unscrew the stand with the indicator and screw the threaded plug into the pump hole.
