Adjusting the maximum engine speed without load (VW Passat B4)

Start and warm up the engine (oil temperature not less than 60°C). Briefly press the fuel supply control pedal all the way down and check the crankshaft speed, which should be within 4950-5150 rpm. If the speed deviates from the norm, achieve the required value by turning screw 2 (Fig. 3-40) or 5 (Fig. 3-41).
