Terminal for connecting a tachometer
W - terminal for connecting a tachometer
Checking and adjusting the speed of a 4-cylinder engine
1. Screw for adjusting idle speed; 2. Screw for adjusting the maximum speed; 3. Thrust screw to lower the idle speed; 4. High idle stop screw (increase in the number of revolutions); 5. Processing screw
Checking and adjusting the speed of a 5-cylinder engine
1. Screw for adjusting idle speed; 2. Concentrating screw; 3. Speed limit adjustment screw
Since diesel engines do not have an ignition system, a special rev counter is required (tachometer) VDO. It is connected to the generator terminal.
If a tachometer is installed in the machine, you can use it to check and adjust.
1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature. Oil temperature not less than 60°С.
2. Connect tachometer.
3. Do not remove the cold start accelerator cable.
4. All electrical consumers (radio, light) must be turned off.
5. Check idle speed, limit value for 1.9-liter engine: 850±30 rpm; 2.4 liter engine: 850±50 rpm. If necessary, adjust idle speed with adjusting screw 1. To the right: speed increases. To the left: speed decreases.
Attention! If, on a 4-cylinder engine, the idle speed cannot be lowered below 880 rpm, since the stop rests on the limit screw 3, unlock the limit screw and unscrew. Adjust the idle speed with the adjusting screw 1, screw in the limit screw until it stops and lock it.
Increasing speed check (4 cylinder engine)
6. Pull out the cold start cable to the first lock. The rpm should increase by about 60 rpm.
7. Pull the cold start cable all the way out. The revolutions should increase to approximately 1050±50 rpm.
8. If the required values are not achieved, adjust the cold start cable.
Attention! If the required value of 1050 rpm, despite the correct adjustment of the cold start cable, is not achieved - unlock the stop screw (4). Adjust, with the cable fully extended, with the stop screw, the speed, and lock the stop screw.
Checking the limit speed
9. Give "full throttle". Required value: 4800±100 rpm.
10. Loosen the adjusting screw locknut if necessary (2) (4 cylinder engine) or (3) (5 cylinder engine) and adjust the speed limits. Then tighten the locknut.
Attention! The enrichment screw is sealed with a cap and is usually not adjustable. If, due to imprudence, the screw tension has been changed, then the following faults may occur: 1. The screw is screwed in - the enrichment is too high, the idle speed is high, unregulated. 2. Screw out - too little enrichment, jolts at start or acceleration at low rpm. If necessary, make basic adjustments. To do this, remove the cap and unlock the screw.
11. Enrichment too low: gradually turn in the adjusting screw until the speed increases no further, then back out the screw by 1/2 turn.
12. Enrichment is too great (revs too high): Unscrew the adjusting screw until the speed does not decrease any more, then screw in the screw 1/2 turn.
13. Lock the adjusting screw and seal with a new cap.
