Caution! Before unscrewing the fuel lines, clean them with a cold cleaning agent.
Cause | Method of elimination |
The engine does not start or starts poorly
| The engine does not warm up | Check the heating system |
| No voltage at the traction switch | Connect the voltage indicator to the traction switch, turn off the ignition. The LED should light, otherwise find and fix the break |
| The electromagnetic traction switch is loose and faulty | Check the reliability of the ignition switch fastening and ground contact. Alternately turn the ignition on and off, while the traction switch should click |
| Fuel supply faulty | Check the fuel supply |
| Fuel lines are kinked, clogged, leaky, porous | Clean the fuel lines |
| The fuel filter is clogged | Replace the fuel filter |
| In winter: ice in the filter and fuel lines | Roll the car into a heated garage and warm up the engine |
| Fuel tank ventilation does not work. Fuel mesh filter in the fuel tank is dirty | Clean the filter |
| The fuel supply start is knocked down | Check and adjust the feed start |
| The injectors are faulty | Check the injectors, unscrew the union nuts in sequence and check the operation of the cylinders |
| The fuel injection pump is faulty | As a test, install a new fuel injection pump |
The engine runs jerkily at idle, when starting off
| Idle speed is adjusted incorrectly | Adjust idle speed |
| The gas supply drive is jammed | Restore ease of movement, adjust |
| Loose fuel lines at the fuel pump or fuel filter | Replace fuel lines, secure with clamps, tighten hollow bolts |
| The support plate has weakened, cracked or worn out (rear mount) or console (front mount) Fuel injection pump | Check the base plate or console |
| The hollow bolts of the fuel supply and return lines are reversed | Install the hollow bolts correctly. The fuel return line hollow bolt is fitted with a return flow restrictor and is marked "OUT" on a hex head |
Too high fuel consumption
| The air filter is dirty | Replace the filter element |
| The fuel supply system is leaking | Check all fuel lines by visual inspection (feed, return and injection), fuel filter and injection pump |
| The fuel return line is clogged | Blow out the return line from the injection pump to the fuel tank. Replace the bypass throttle in the hollow bolt of the fuel return line |
| Idle speed and maximum speed are too high | Adjust the speed |
