2. Unscrew the plug of the return valve, remove the plug and its sealing gasket 11 (fig 3.53).

3. Then, in order, remove the piston o-ring and the second o-ring.
4. When installing, put on new sealing rings and make sure that all adjusting washers are installed in place. Number of installed washers (gaskets) is decisive for the operating pressure in the system. If, for any reason, the pressure in the system seems abnormal, the pressure must be checked at a Volkswagen workshop, where the necessary tools for checking the pressure in the system should be located. The station determines the number of pucks (gaskets), necessary to properly adjust the pressure, should such adjustment prove necessary.
