Fuel filter (VW Golf 2)

1. The fuel filter is installed on the pump tank.

2. Disconnect the battery ground wire clamp.

3. Raise the rear of the vehicle and place it on stands.

4. Unscrew the bolt of the connection 23, the elastic hose of the pressure accumulator and disconnect the connection, not forgetting about the washers (gaskets) from both sides.

5. Disconnect the elastic fuel supply hose 17 from the rear of the filter (to the fuel distributor), unscrewing the connecting bolt. Remove the washers from both sides.

6. Loosen the filter support clamp 24 and remove the filter.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The washers on the ends of the connections must be replaced with new ones. Check whether the arrow on the filter is directed according to the direction of fuel flow from pressure accumulator 1 to the fuel distributor (connection 17).

8. With the engine running, check for signs of fuel leakage.
