First, you need to start the engine for 1 minute.
2. Loosen the clamps of the elastic pipes at each end of the air supply cover and remove them. If it turns out that the sensor plate is not on the axis of the transition, it is necessary to loosen it with the central bolt and carefully pull the 0.10 mm feeler gauge along its perimeter along the edge to center the plate, then tighten the bolt (figure 3.50).

3. Lift the air flow sensor plate and then quickly return it to its resting position. There should be no resistance at all during this downward movement. If there is resistance, the air flow meter is faulty and must be replaced with a new one.
4. If the flow meter plate can be easily moved down, but when moving up there is strong resistance, this indicates that the control piston is jammed. It is necessary to remove the fuel distributor and clean the control piston in fuel. If after this there is no positive change, it is necessary to install a new fuel distributor.
5. Reduce the pressure in the distributor, and then check the air flow meter plate in the resting position. The upper edge of the plate should be at the same level with the edge of the neck (figure 3.49). It is permissible for the edge of the plate to be lower than the edge of the neck but not more than 0.5 mm. However, if the edge of the plate is placed above the edge of the cone or more than the permissible limit of 0.5 mm below the edge of the cone, the plate must be adjusted.

6. The height of the plate position can be adjusted by lifting the plate and bending the wire clips towards the counterweight arm, but care must be taken not to scratch or damage the surfaces of the air supply cone.
7. After adjustment, check the engine idle speed and the carbon content in the exhaust gases.
