Locking and unlocking the car
Using the remote control radio locks, you can lock and unlock your car from a distance.
Unlocking vehicle 1, locking vehicle 2, unlocking rear door 3 (Fig. 1.10).

The radio transmitter with battery is located in the radio key. The radio signal receiver is located inside the car. The range of the radio key depends on many factors. When the battery is discharged, the range decreases.
Wiping and locking the car
In the main menu "Komfort-Setup" you can set the unlocking and locking mode of the car.
NOTE: Radio keys only unlock and lock the vehicle within the range of the remote control (Fig. 1.11).

NOTE: If the vehicle is unlocked and no door, including the rear door, is opened within the next 30 seconds, the vehicle will automatically lock again. This function prevents the vehicle from being left unlocked for an unintentional period of time. If the vehicle can no longer be unlocked or locked with the radio key, the radio key must be resynchronised.
Replacing the battery
A message appears on the instrument panel display indicating that the battery in the radio key needs to be replaced soon.
In addition, the control lamp in the battery starts flashing green (Fig. 1.12).

Synchronization of radio keys
Lock the car with the mechanical key.
Turn on the ignition.
If the "lock" button was pressed outside the range of the radio key, it is possible that the vehicle can no longer be unlocked or locked with the radio key. The radio key must be resynchronized.
Additional radio keys can be ordered from a Volkswagen service center; you should also synchronize them there.
There can be a maximum of eight radio keys in use.
Keyless vehicle access.
Wiping doors
Take hold of the handle of the door you want to unlock (Fig. 1.13).

Locking doors
Press the button on the door handle once to lock the car.
Press the button on the door handle twice to lock the car and arm the alarm (without activating the vehicle interior monitoring and protection against loading onto a tow truck).
If the car key is in the driver's jacket pocket, for example, and he approaches the car, the keyless entry system will recognize the key, check its functionality and perform the following functions:
- unlocking a car without a key;
- engine start;
- locking the car.
As an additional safety feature of keyless access, there is a "passive exit". If the jacket with the key is left in the car, the car is not locked - the driver should not be left outside the locked car without the key.
The radio transmitter with battery is located in the radio key. The radio signal receiver is located inside the car.
Security re-locking
If the vehicle is unlocked and no doors, including the rear door, are opened within the next 30 seconds, the vehicle is automatically locked again. This feature prevents the vehicle from being left unlocked for an unintentional period of time.
Wiping a car with keyless entry after a long period of parking
If the car is not used for a long time (for example, during vacation), the proximity sensors in the door handles are turned off to save energy. In this case, you should pull the door handle once to unlock the car and pull it a second time to open the door.
