The upper support of the suspension strut serves as noise isolation, it should increase the effectiveness of the damping and, when turning the steered wheels, provide as little resistance as possible. As long as the front wheels are in contact with the road, the suspension strut mounts are constantly under load.
If the front wheel suspension play is checked during the inspection (wheels are lifted for this), then play is detected between the shock absorber support and the damper piston rod. But this is due to the design and does not indicate wear.
