Cars with petrol engines
Removing
To remove the battery, follow these steps.
1. Disconnect the terminals from the battery.
2. Move up (arrow) remove the wall of the battery box.
3. Unscrew the fixing bolt (1) and remove the bracket (2).
4. Remove the battery.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, observing the following instructions.
Tighten screw connections to the specified tightening torque.
After installation, check the reliability of the fastening of the battery.
Connect the terminals to the battery.
Attention: a loose battery mount can lead to undesirable consequences:
- reduced service life due to damage due to vibrations (explosion hazard);
- unreliable fastening of the battery leads to the destruction of its plates;
- damage to the battery case as a result of rubbing against the mounting bracket can lead to electrolyte leakage, which will cause costly repairs;
- deterioration of passive safety in case of accidents.
Vehicles with diesel engines
Removing
To remove the battery, follow these steps.
1. Remove the dipstick.
2. Remove the engine cover by first pulling it up (arrow A), and then forward (arrow B).
3. Disconnect the terminals from the battery, for which perform the following steps.
3.1. Loosen spring clamp (1), disconnect the vacuum hose (2) and remove the bolt (3) attaching the air filter housing.
3.2. Disconnect the air intake hose from the air filter housing.
3.3. Release the air filter housing from the fasteners upwards and remove it.
3.4. moving up (arrow) remove the wall of the battery box.
3.5. Loosen the fixing screw (1) and remove the bracket (2).
3.6. Raise handles (arrows) and, holding them, remove the battery.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Tightening torques for battery fasteners:
- Terminal at battery terminal M6: 6 Nm.
- Additional terminal to the main battery terminal (1) M6: 6 Nm.
- Mounting bracket bolt M8x35: 20 Nm.
