Removal and installation of the air filter element on engines with the letter designation BCA (1.4 l, gasoline, 55 kW, 75 hp until 05.2006)
For fastening the upper part of the air filter housing to the lower part, as well as fastening the air intake pipe, self-tapping screws are used in serial production, the tightening torque of which should not exceed 3 Nm.
Removing
The air filter element is integrated into the engine cover.
To remove the air filter element, follow these steps:
1. Remove the engine cover (upper).
2. Lay the engine cover face down on a soft pad so as not to damage it.
3. Unscrew the bolts (arrows).
4. Remove the lower part of the air filter housing (1) and remove the filter element (2) air filter from the housing.
5. Clean the bottom of the air filter housing before installing a new air filter element.
Installation
1. Insert a new filter element (2) at the bottom of the air filter housing (1).
2. Screws (arrows) should be tightened with a torque of no more than 3 Nm (see fig. VC 1.054).
3. Reinstall the upper engine cover.
Removal and installation of the filter element5 of the air filter on engines with the letter designation BUD (1.4 l, gasoline, 59 kW, 80 hp since 05.2006)
Removing
To remove the air filter element, follow these steps:
1. Carefully disconnect the hose (1).
2. Unscrew the top screws (2) air filter housing and flip it up to remove the filter element (3).
3. Clean the air filter housing before installing a new filter element.
Installation
1. Carefully install a new air filter element.
2. Installation of the air filter housing is carried out in reverse order.
Removal and installation of the air filter element on engines with letter designations: BDJ (2.0L, SDI, 51kW, 70hp), BGU (1.6 l, gasoline, 75 kW, 102 hp), BSE (1.6 l, gasoline, 75 kW, 102 hp until 05.2005), BSF (1.6 l, gasoline, 75 kW, 102 hp since 06.2006), BST (2.0L, SDI, 51kW, 70hp), BSX (2.0 l, gas, 80 kW, 109 hp)
Removing
To remove the air filter element, follow these steps:
1. Remove 4 screws (arrows) and remove the cover.
2. Remove the screw (1) and remove the holder (2).
3. Remove the old filter element (arrows).
Installation
1. Clean the filter housing and install a new filter element (3).
2. Tighten the screw (1) clamp with a torque of 2 Nm and the screws of the filter cover with a torque of 3 Nm.
Removal and installation of the air filter element on engines with letter designations: BJB (1.9 l TDI, 77 kW, 105 hp, with unit injector), BLS (1.9 l, TDI, 77 kW, 105 hp, with unit injector), BSU (1.9 l, TDI, 55 kW. 70 hp, with pump nozzle)
Removing
To remove the air filter element, follow these steps:
1. Remove the screws (arrows).
2. Remove the upper part of the air filter housing and remove the filter element (1) (see fig. VC 1.061).
Installation
1. Clean the bottom of the air filter housing.
2. Install a new filter element (1) and replace the upper part of the air filter housing.
3. Screw in the screws securing the upper part of the air filter (arrows in fig. VC1.060) and tighten them to 9 Nm.
