Disassembling the front wheel suspension (VW Golf 1)

The chassis and steering are crucial for driving safety. If you are completely confident in your skills and knowledge of the matter, then you can do anything in these units. Otherwise, you endanger both yourself and others. If you do not have the tools listed here or have any doubts about your ability to perform repairs, it is better to entrust this work to a workshop.

As for the front suspension parts, many can be removed and installed independently. But to perform certain work, you will still need some devices and tools that are in the workshop. If some parts of the wheel suspension are damaged, they do not need to be repaired or welded. They should be replaced

Individual parts of the disassembled front wheel suspension: 1 - fixing bracket inside and outside (2) of the stabilizer (11); 3 - suspension triangular arm retaining bracket (9); 4 - wheel bearing housing; 5 - Transverse steering rod; 6 - bearing; 7 - wheel hub; 8 - ball joint; 10 - rubber-metal support.
