The MacPherson strut was used for the front wheel suspension. This suspension strut is a complete wheel suspension system. At the top, at the point of attachment to the body, the system is located so that it can perform pendulum movements. The wheel trunnion is located at the bottom.
Shock absorbers
Tires and wheels absorb the shocks of the roadway. At the same time, shock absorbers should reduce wheel vibrations and help dampen vibrations.
The so-called double-tube shock absorbers are mounted as standard. Such a shock absorber consists of a working cylinder in which the working piston (connected to the stem) can slide up and down. The slave cylinder is surrounded by a second cylinder which serves as a reservoir for the shock absorber fluid. When the wheel reciprocates, the piston moves in the cylinder. A special liquid is forced through the valves, which slows down the movement of the piston and thereby dampens the oscillations of the corresponding wheel.
