Removing
Remove the front wheels.
Loosen the nuts and remove the driver's footwell trim.

Unscrew the bolt 1 and remove the cardan joint 2 from the steering mechanism (pic. 4.33).
Remove the bottom noise screen.
Remove the connecting rods from the stabilizer.
Loosen the nuts on the left and right sides of the car.
Loosen the tie rod nuts on both sides, but do not remove yet.
To protect the threads, leave the nut on the trunnion screwed a few turns.

Press the tie rod end out of the wheel bearing housing using a ball joint extractor (pic. 4.46).
Fix the subframe with consoles.

Unscrew the stabilizer from the subframe 11 and 14 (pic. 4.44).
Remove the oscillating support from the gearbox, to do this, unscrew the bolts.
Position the engine and transmission stand under the subframe.
Place, for example, a block of wood 1 between the engine and gearbox support and the subframe.
Unscrew bolts 4 and 5 and slightly lower the subframe with consoles (pic. 4.44). At the same time, keep an eye on electrical wires.
Move the stabilizer to the right in the direction of travel.

Raise the stabilizer 1 forward through the subframe 2 and lower it while turning it slightly (pic. 4.47).
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Install the bottom soundproofing screen.
Note: Lubricate the steering gear seal with an anti-friction agent such as grease soap before installing the steering gear.
Note: After installing the steering gear on the steering column shaft, check that the steering gear seal is not kinked at the mounting plate and that the seal is correctly positioned in the footwell hole. Otherwise, water and/or noise may enter.
Note: Keep the sealing surfaces clean.

After installation, it is necessary to perform a basic adjustment of the steering angle sensor.
At the end of the repair, carry out a test drive, if the steering wheel does not stand straight when driving in a straight line, it is necessary to adjust the wheel alignment angles.
